Our mission includes a missive to actively care for feral cats in the Puget Sound area. The best way that we can do this is to help reduce the population of feral cats through natural attrition helped along by humane population control.

We are equipped to work with large and small colonies of feral cats. Our trappers bring in and set the traps, then take the trapped cats back to our holding facility to await their spays and neuters. We don not hold the cats for any longer than needed, hopefully not longer than a week. Once altered and vaccinated and tested the cats are returned to their colony, provided it is maintained and safe. Otherwise we are put in difficult position of finding a relocation site for the cats. We work with another non-profit group who diligently screens potential barn homes for suitable relocation sites. We work on a first come, first served basis. We are delighted to have help such as watching traps, transporting cats and donations of gas money.

Pregnant cats that give birth while in our facility are moved to more comfortable accommodations while nursing their new babies. We hold them all until the kittens are weaned and the mom can be spayed and returned to her colony. Sick cats are seen by our vets. There are times that we cannot tell that a cat is sick because ferals are very private animals, but we do our best.

To arrange trapping in your area, please call Nancy at 206-459-7202.

Please be prepared to provide the following information:
  1. Exact location of colony- sometimes we are already aware of the site, or it needs to be passed on to a trapper closer to the location.
  2. An approximate number of cats in the population.
  3. Are there any kittens or pregnant females that you know of?
  4. Who is feeding the cats?
  5. Can we get permission to trap at that location?
  6. Is anyone willing to help?
Thank you so much for your interest in our work and for your compassion toward our feral friends!
